A few weeks ago PSquare released their sixth studio album “Double Trouble”, but that album almost never saw the light of day due to the rift between the Okoye brothers (Peter, Paul & Jude) which threatened to break them up and put their fans in a frenzy. The bitter rift got so bad at one point that the beloved Okoye brothers reportedly came to blows during a rehearsal.
If you thought their rift was because of money or the women (some fans chose to cyber bully Peter’s wife Lola as the purported cause of the quarrel) in their lives you are wrong. Peter & Paul revealed during their insightful interview on The Truth with Olisa Adibua that their epic beef was all because of “the music”. Peter wanted to try new things, have more of creative input & Paul was of the opinion that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
During the interview Peter Okoye said,
It wasn’t about money, it wasn’t about women, it’s just a normal thing. The way you argue or quarrel with your siblings, it’s normal. The only sad thing about this is that it got out. When it was happening, we were still performing in shows. So people took our private lives, to our business, which I don’t blame them. I don’t blame these fans because we owe them a lot of apology. But for the fact that they took it too far, I and Paul had a mere argument, and it was about music.
