“It Was A Mistake To Think They Are The Way Forward”, Eldee Says PMB’s Administration Isn’t Helping The Country

With the dire state of the economy it comes as no surprise that people who once supported Muhammadu Buhari as president are now having a change of heart.

Rapper and producer, Eldee who was vocal about his support for PMB took to Twitter recently to express his feelings about the current administration which is a year old.

He wrote,

I did support PMB and if placed in same conditions as the time, I’d do so again. That he is not able to do what we expected is a diff story.

He went on to state that he will still make the same choice of supporting PMB if placed in the same conditions as there were no good options at that time

eLDee Receives Anti Gay Backlash After Showing Support For Gay Rights & Comparing It To Racism & Religious Discrimination.

I first saw this eLDee The Don post about gay rights on his Instagram account on Christmas eve but I promised to give myself a few days off active blogging for Christmas cos I had to revive my comatose social life! As much as I love this site, my computer won’t keep me warm at night & my social life has been suffering big time.

I’ll give you the backstory on what’s causing all the wahala; eLDee posted a screenshot of billionaire Richard Branson’s message condemning Uganda’s anti gay laws. The message read,  “I wouldn’t do business in Uganda due to their dreadful anti-gay laws. Urge other companies to follow suit. Governments (and everyone else) must realise that people should be able to love whoever they want”

Branson’s message was in reaction to Ugandan MPs passing a new law making homosexuality punishable by life imprisonment. The law also means people who do not report gay people can be sent to prison.

eLDee posted the picture along with a caption saying, “Hopefully, one day soon, Africa will realize that the #anti-gay sentiment is no different from racial or religious discrimination. #RaceCreedSexualOrientation #Discrimination”

Screen shot 2013-12-27 at 13.45.38

eLDee’s comments clearly irked most of his largely African following on Instagram & what followed was pure anger lashed out at the rapper for his pro gay stance. See some of the reactions below.

First of all I’m all for people loving whoever they want as long as they are not harming anyone, but I’m sorry I do not see the correlation between gay rights & the apartheid struggle or fight for racial equality in the United States. It’s just not the same.

Best thing about the night: My cousin Erica and I had a ball, we were a party to ourselves, Seyi Shay‘s performance was so impressive, the upcoming singer went in, she was truly committed to the performance (you could tell she’s been studying Beyonce), her outfit was sexy and she had all the men drooling, Basketmouth & Toolz did a great job hosting and the cocktails were sent from heaven.
