Owner of Forte Oil, Femi Otedola has brought a smile to the faces of Nigerians, in a stealth move the oil & gas mogul has crashed the price of kerosene from N125 per liter to N50 per liter.
The Oil Baron did this by directing all his Forte oil stations across the country to sell Kerosene at N50. This decision came with identifying with President Buhari’s bid to reduce the hardships faced by millions of Nigerians.
Not only did he begin the sale of the code named “Buhari Kerosene”, some days back he revealed the shady activities of some characters in the oil sector, whom he accused of selling Household Kerosene as Jet A1 fuel to airline operators.
In his statement he put them on blast saying
This illicit act has been identified as the major factor contributing to the rising cost of kerosene
in the country and may also be the cause of some of the air mishaps we have encountered in the country in recent times.
He also revealed that Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) sold Kerosene for N40.90k, with the aim of it being sold at pump price for N50 but major dealers sell the product at an inflated rate to Nigerians.
This move will definitely help alleviate the hardship faced by the average Nigerian and no doubt other companies will follow suit.
