Taylor Swift Has Just Released A New Video & People Are Saying It’s Racist & Promoting Colonialism In Africa. Do You Agree?
Taylor Swift has come under fire for her latest music video “Wildest Dreams” which stars actor Scott Eastwood and was filmed at an undisclosed location in Africa.
The video tells the story of two actors in the 1950s having a doomed affair while shooting a film in Africa.
The video fulfils all Western cliches of Africa: wild animals, large expanse of land…you know the drill, but guess what for a video that was filmed in “Africa”, there are no black people in except for the black extras that appear in the background scenes for a total of 2 seconds.
Anyway critics are bashing the “Joseph Kahn” directed video for promoting white colonialism & racism.
Even though Taylor has remained mum about the bashing she’s getting, the video director has come out to defend his work. Read what he said after the jump
