A video which was first broadcast on Sky News yesterday has emerged showing the dramatic moment a man with Ebola who had escaped quarantine in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, was forcefully dragged into the back of a truck after he was recaptured by healthcare workers.
The man was wearing a red shirt with a tag telling people he had tested positive for Ebola, before he was captured he was shown walking through a market looking for food while people fearfully kept their distance from him.
Liberia is currently in the grip of an Ebola epidemic which has killed over 700 people since February. According to reports citizens of the country have been refusing to go to the quarantine centers, with many even escaping the treatment centers because they view them as a death sentence.
So in order to prevent the disease from spreading any more than it already has, the Liberian government has no choice but to implement forceful measures to get those infected to the isolation wards.
