On Friday 11th July, Gospel Singer Kefee took her final bow as she was laid to rest in a befitting ceremony that took place at her hometown of Okpara Inland of Ethiope East Local Government, Delta State.
The funeral ceremony started at 12 noon with a homecoming service at the Akpevweoghene Educational Centre, Okpara Inland, Delta State. Before the arrival of her body young people in the area loitered the streets dancing to her hits, the mood immediately turned to one of tears and wailing as her body arrived in a white coffin, where it was met by her hubby Teddy Don-Momoh.
Kefee’s body was then taken to a classroom for prayers by her husband and the officiating priests.
It was immediately followed by a closed casket lying in state before being taken for burial at a recently erected private mausoleum.
The service was attended by family and colleagues like Daddy Showkey, Sammie Okposo, Princess, Niki Laoye, I Go ye, Tosin Martins, Tony Okoroji and many more.
In accordance with African custom her parents did not attend any of the events.
Following the burial, a celebratory concert in honour of the late 34 year old’s life was held, there were performances from gospel artistes like Sammie Okposo and local upcoming artistes.
